Came across this unusual Hamilton Mfg Company Printer's cabinet this week. Whats unusual about it is the depth of the drawers. Unlike most Hamilton drawers which are meant to hold type and therefore very shallow, these drawers are 4.5" deep each. I've never seen one like this.

Anyone know why the drawers are so deep? What was this used for. Otherwise its the same basic construction the other hamilton cabinet I posted (although this one is much wider too).

      Hey potrero,

Nice type case. I have forwarded this to my brother, director of the Hamilton Wood Type Museum in Two Rivers, Wis. You may also contact him directly at jmoran1120@gmail.com.

      Best.
