Two years ago I went to my local recycling center, and on my way out this red bicycle was in the bed of a truck. I asked the owner about it, and moments later he lifted it up and handed to me.

In the time since, all I have learned it that it is a Ross Deluxe 1950's. That's it! I've been chasing a parked car (getting no where fast) ever since . Any help would be great!

Tires are dry-rotted, and the rear axle (sprocket I guess) is bad (I think). Sorry, this is my first restoration.

Could use guidance on painting too. Do I get sand blasted then painted,or powder-coated?

    Thanks!!

From the photos it looks nice,,too nice to do anything but clean it up, and have the rear hub rebuilt. Buy some good tires from a Bicycle shop. Tubes too. Then ride it. Nice find.

      Thanks for the great advice!
It does have a small amount of rust, on left side where the rear tire is mounted.

Never saw using WD-40 to clean up paint job. Wow, thanks!

You mentioned about rebuilding the rear hub. Where do I find someone, and is it pricey? Thanks!
