I got this in the bottom of a 5 pound (money), box of stuff in an auction in Enfield Middx England. It looks like a genuine Roman coin made into a pendent. The coin has possibly a roman emperor's head on one side & it looks like a Roman soldier with shield sitting on rock holding what looks like a fairy with wings, I'm not sure what the words are beside the fairy, also the word Ba------ on the other side of the coin. This pendent has no magnetism at all. If anyone can shed some light on this pendent please leave a comment below.

The writing is in Greek. It says King Lysimachos. Here is similar:

The head is Alexander the Great and the seated figure is Athena

Hello Mrtyndall, thank you for the information. It is extremely hard to tell if it's KINGS of THRACE. Lysimachos. 305-281 BC or Alexander The Great 336-359. I will take it to a specialist.

Here is history on the tetradrachm

Let us know what specialist says-whether it is an original or repro. It does look old.

Thanks so much Mrtyndall, I now understand why KINGS of THRACE. Lysimachos. 305-281 BC used Alexander The Great's bust on the coins.

      Thank you very much.

I will keep the coin as a pendent and give it to my hubby coz he is my Alexander The Great.

      Lesley Parish.
