Hi CW Gang:
Another item I got today. A metal brooch. No marks on it but it appears to be a SWORD & STAG design from what I can made out. Again there are no marks on it as to maker - but on the back their are like a bunch of slight little circles on it. Not sure why it is like that, The pin design at the back also looks old. About 3 inches long

I think I may have figured this out - It is an Vintage Pewter CELTIC Scottish STAG Head SWORD Brooch/Kilt Pin as here is one like it:

When I first saw your pic, I thought it looked Scottish. Lots of detail and the stone is lovely.
Beautiful stag head and red cabochon, reminds me of a royal scepter
On comment #1, I could tell right away it was scottish as the scottish thistle plays heavy in their heraldic lore, along with deer which the wealthy let run on their grounds of their country houses both in Scotland and Ireland. Cool find Rose !~
My boss was Scottish and she wore these a lot on her kilts.
