I found, while googling images of old jewellery advertisements, those stunning pages!
The company advertisements found are from 1893 to 1908... it is said the Company was manufacturer and setter, specialised in unrivalised diamonds imitations and "orient pearls" as beautiful as the genuine.
You can see on pics 1, 2 and 3 the strong similarities between my pieces and those on the ads!
Last pic is the one of their new premises in 1897, situed 143 Regent Street in London.
Well worth to enlarge to read the description of the decor!!!
Halas, still not found any infos on the company itself, its mark, and why it seems to have disapeared after 1908....
Seeking for a complete paper catalogue to go further in the identification of my mysterious "etruscan urn" maker's mark :-D

I love to see many of your brooches that are my favorites, all together on these pages - I esp love that gorgeous monkey & large winged bird, and as the ads state, they really look genuine

But why such a high end company vanished without leaving a trace puzzles me!!!
I'm not a real searcher, and all my ideas went to a dead end for the moment; Exploring for now the commercial registered jewellers Internet sites for these years with no success :-/
I am so happy and amazed Pascale. This seems a great find to identify your previously unknown mark. For me, the pendant starburst is the greatest persuader: such an unusual design,so similar. Clever girl!!

The starburst is the most matching, but I found more that I can't post, because the pieces aren't mine... A particular brooch representing a paste set hare with a dangling turtle is an even more striking match!!!

One of the ads mentions the company was established in 1890, the last ad I saw on the list was 1909.
An article from Monday, 16 March 1896 in The Scotsmen, p. 7 mentions a succesful and extensive burglary during Saturday night at their head branch, 86 New Bond Street. The entire stock of Oriental pearls and diamonds were stolen, burglars not caught; valued at 5 0r 6000 pounds.
Article in the St James Gazette, 16 April 1896 mentions the reopening of their head branch in 89 Bond Street.
From the ads, their adresses were at 85 New Bond Street, 143 Regent Street (later 248), 37,38,29 Burlington Arcade, W.

I saw one of the newspapers anounced by mistake the fail and bankruptcy of the parisian diamond company and apologized about that, but can't see the year!
I saw too they produced enamel and paste insects... that is my new Graal ;-))

@kyratango I think, it was in 1893. Most of those pages are detailed ads, I thought they were quite well done. I propose writing an article using those ads, I think it would be awesome/interesting ;) Good luck in your hunting, I can't wait to see your findings :)

I think if you contact somebody from the family, I think they will be happy to talk about him, the company. Maybe his passing away is the reason the company did not continue.

From the Times - 21 March 1896, p. 1
One hundred pounds reward for any information about the burglary from 14th to 15th night from Bond Street; caution for pawnbrokers, jewellers or others to accept the jwellery, apparentely of great value, in consequence of the mounts being of highclass workmanship and of gold, but set with the company's "orient" pearls and immitation gemstones.
Another article from 26 July 1905, p. 3 discusses a lady stealing a valuable necklace from Christie's, she tried to replace the mentioned necklace with one she bought from The Parisian Diamond Company.
The Times, 16 March 1896, p. 9 - burglary - The Parisian Diamond Company, a firm dealing in immitation diamonds and pearls. "An outer door was opened by means of a skeleton key and an inner door by the drilling out of a panel. The place had recentely been restocked, and the burglars made a clean sweep, taking practically everything there, and got away. The manager stated that the loss amounted to about 3,000 pounds."
There is also an article from 18 October 1980, p. 7 Collecting. Following the Edwardian Style - mentions the so called dog collar "Thousands of paste dog collars must have been sold by London firms such as the Parisian Diamond Company and these may be picked up for 30-40 pounds."

De Beers rule's the wold of dimonds I wonder if its a aka company name of De Beers ...J P morgan was involed with them to control all the dimonds in the world ..or maybe they bought them out .???

Laws then seem to be less strict than now about advertising imitations with the name of the real thing :-)))

Hello to all. I haven't gotten through this entire thread yet, but Walter Leighton Sanderson (who at one time was a partner in the Parisian Diamond Company) was my 2nd great grandfather. I would be glad to share what little I know about him. I have always hoped that at some point in my life, I'd be able to find a piece of jewelry that was sold by him. It would be a wonderful piece of my family history. In the meantime I've settled for a one page advertisement, which I plan to frame and hang in my home.

I saw the 925-1000 page about your great great grand father when searching for the Parisian Diamond Company, halas, my famous mysterious "urn" mark is not mentioned... only the WLS in oblong punch.
Any chance you still have catalog from the firm?
It is only the design similarities and quality of the "stones" and setting which made me think my "mysterious maker" and your great great grand father's company may be related...

I admit to veering between Urn and Out Of Control Squid when originally trying to identify the mark on my Parisian Diamond Co pieces. I have a few of them now and they are all very well made and super sparkly. Nice to learn the history behind them.

GESCHUTZ is German for "registered", that plus the listing based on German EBay confirm the mysterious maker is GERMAN! :-D
