T these were given to me by a friend from his mother's estate. She was downsizing and gave him two boxes of various objects. This is one of them. I don't know anything about it but it's very nice and very heavy. Any help would be appreciated.

Beautiful fluted glass, you say it is heavy but not knowing the dimensions, a guess would be a fancy punch bowl
when the sides of bowls are 'bent up' like this they are most often called banana bowls or fruit bowls. This one can be found attributed to H H Union, Czech Republic and Tuscana by Crystal Clear Industries; both can be true since CCI is an importer from various makers under their label. Didn't find one with a label anywhere.
