What are these things? And the mystery is solved!

These two items are lost-wax castings made from "white brass" such as is often used in the Far East. The decorative style makes me think "Indian." They appear to be rings with spikes on one side. They are about ring size #13 - larger than my thumbs. The larger one is 2" long and 1 3/8" wide plus the 1 1/2" spike. (That's a US quarter in pic #2.) You can see considerable wear at several places on the bottom surfaces of the larger one, suggesting long use; the smaller one has no wear at all. The spikes are dull. It's been suggested that they are weapons or rug weaver's tools but I haven't found anything on Google yet. Does anyone out there know what they are?

19th Century toe rings from Rajasthan, India. The bar fits under the adjoining toes to prevent the ring from rotating.
