This 3" giraffe brooch has a body of white pave rhinestones with black enamel spots, & white rhinestone eyes on goldtone, by Hattie Carnegie (1918-1979) ca 1950s. The 4 1-4" ceramic giraffe hinged box has been in my curio for yrs, it is pale yellow with brown spots & accents, marked Westland 1998 #4435, made in China

His pose is great- It looks like he's really galloping across the Savannah- giraffes look funny when they run, sort of like deck chairs lolloping about (if deck chairs could run....)

Ken it is a nice trinket box right, I semi-collected them back in the 80s-90s when all the companies were trying to copy Limoges boxes, and they made them better IMO back then. Thanks for the nice compliment
Eileen Carnegie did a good job capturing a running giraffe right, only thing it's in kind of a twisty shape where you can't tell it has two rhinestone eyes, I tried to photograph both & it just wouldn't work. Glad you also enjoyed the trinket box, maybe I can find the CW collector in their search box, as I love them too. Appreciate the kind compliments
Lauren, the giraffes DO run funny lol, it has to be that tall disproportionate body on those skinny legs, but they sure take off fast on the African plains, esp when being chased! Thanks for your great comment & cute imagery on the deck chairs

Thanks Karen, I agree with you that there is quite a contrast with the calm giraffe box & the realistic running brooch (giraffes seem to always take off in a run in their natural habitat, they seem easily frightened). Always really appreciate your kind compliments!
Scott, I wasn't sure these two would match well as I tried the brooch in different positions - straight across, the poor thing looked dead! - but finally got them to look harmonious, and very glad you liked them both, thanx for the great comment
