    This barrel has been in my parents kitchen for years. My mother passed away 2yrs. ago and now my dad will be selling some of their things. Is there anything you can tell me about this barrel?

    Any news would be great!

      This looks like an old butter churn, maybe?

      It's made by a company called Louisville Pottery, the Indian Head collection. There are usually eight stars around the Indian head, but this one is faded.

      I can't find much about the company now, unless it changed its name to Louisville Stoneware (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louisville_Stoneware).

      Weird...

      Anyway, it looks like it's from the Indian Head or Cherokee collection made by Louisville Pottery. It's probably dated 1905 to 1945 (rough BROAD guess!).
