Bourbon Street (New Orleans) Shot Glass by Astar

This 1 1/2" Tall Gold Leaf Shot Glass has a partial 22k Gold by Astar makers mark on it. As can be seen the Astar label is very similar to the Culver glassware label. Its products are also very similar to Culver's. Any information about Astar's relation to Culver Glass (if any) will be appreciated.

Culver Glass was started in Brooklyn NYC in 1939 by Irving Rothenberg. It moved to Rahway New Jersey in 1980. Irving's son Mark "Mickey" Rothenberg took over the company in 1987 after Irving passed. He ran the company until selling it to Moderne Glass Company in 1996. He then headed another glass company (MDR Global Resources) until his death on 9/11. He was one of the passengers on the hijacked Newark-to-San-Francisco flight that crashed in Pennsylvania.
