Remarkable and unique circa late 1960's - early 1970's LEE Patched & Painted Bellbottom Flare High Waist Jeans. This fab artifact was found in Pasadena but may well have migrated there from anywhere in the Northern climate. The combination of psychedelic original art with a smattering of selected patches gives this an identity of it's own, which I am sure was the original owner's intent. As I have shown before, these are usually created over years. The purple Woodstock patch is an early one perhaps as a movie promotion - although those usually have the WB copyright. I think I can date this to 69-70. The Student Target patch were popular after the Kent State massacre in 1970. As for the paintings, I thought at first glance that may have been Jesus as Jesus freaks were an offshoot of the Hippie movement. However after I looked at it closely I think it was a self portrait or one of a boyfriend. Love the oh-so psychedelic mushrooms and the random stars both drawn and studded.
Very cool patches & jeans art, I really love the purple bird on guitar, did not know that was a Woodstock emblem
