Another concert is upon me. Staring Blue Oyster Cult aka B.O.C. Still alive and kicking after 47+ yrs. They started off as 'the Soft White Underbelly' in the early 70's. Still fronted by original members Buck Dharma on lead guitar/vocals and Eric Bloom rhythm guitar and lead vocals. Most known for there big hit 'Godzilla' and 'Don't Fear The Reaper' they are a incredible band. I first seen them in 1980 with Black Sabbath. Pictured is there 1974 release 'Secret Treaties' on album format. Astronomy being a key live track from this album.
Warming up is the magical voice and guitar and chief songwriter for Grand Funk Railroad. Mark Farner. We have here on CD format, The complete Atlantic Sessions. 2 albums he did for Atlantic records, 'Mark Farner' & 'No Frills' 1977 & 1978 releases. Live N'rg, from 2003. He had a great power trio back then. 'For The People' from 2006.
He still kicks ass in concert playing all the great Grand Funk tunes that he wrote.( which was 99.9% of them) I have seen both many times!
The show is this Sat in Jackson Michigan. A hour and half from our side of town but my girlfriends cottage is 20 min from the venue so we will make a wknd out of it.
Thanx for listening!
