This Fostoria Heirloom glass bowl is 10" across and 6.25" high. It is an extremely rare piece, probably from a limited, experimental run. Only three pieces, all the same color, are documented and one of those was later broken.
I went for a walk today thinking I wouldn't get in too much trouble and bought four pieces of glass that probably weighed about 20 lbs total and had to lug it home about a mile uphill. Sigh. This felt like Viking to me, but I just couldn't find an image of anything like it and could only gaze longingly at my Dean Six book on Viking glass which was out reach in my storeroom. The bottom is beveled around the rim. It has several large straw marks. It had been at a local thrift shop for about a year coming down from $39 to $29 and I made a $20 offer and got it. There is a bit of clear/opalescent glass around the rim of the bowl, which also made me think it is Viking. I haven't weighed it, but guess it is in the 4-6 pound range. The first image is the true color. I had to light it up to get some details. The light shining through the bowl makes some nice patterns on the table top.

The colour is wonderful. I don’t know how you managed to carry it home! I struggled to carry my sundae dishes and trinket set 200 yards to the car!

@nutsabotas6 - Thanks! I've been lusting after it for some time. I think it is from the Epic line, too. I am just not able to reach my books. They are on a high shelf with several hundred pounds of artwork and firearms between me and them.
It looks like this piece may have its origin from a large lotus bowl in the Epic line from Viking Glass. Very similar minus the base.
It has a very Viking style to it. Fantastic piece Kevin!

Thanks Broochman! I've looked at a lot of LE Smith glass and never seen anything like this in their repertoire. Except for their swung vases and footed handkerchief bowls, their glass wasn't usually hot formed like this piece is. I've never seen a foot on anything made by them like this. Sometimes it reminds me a bit of Fostoria Heirloom but the the design is very heavy, kind of ponderous, compared to their work. It really reminds me a lot of Viking, and I was certain I would find something similar by them when I bought this, but never have. It may be a one off by Viking or just made by a no name glass studio, though I would expect it to be signed, if that was the case.. Sigh.

Hi! I think I can provide some information about your red bowl. I purchased this bowl in 1965 when I was 17. I bought it for my mother. That beautiful red bowl was the centerpiece to her dining room table from that point forward, no matter where she moved. She would fill it with silver balls at Christmas, gourds in the fall, and fruit the rest of the year. When she passed away, I inherited the bowl. Sadly it just broke which is what prompted my search.
I bought the bowl from a Fostoria Glass Outlet in Zanesville, Ohio. Yes, typically, Fostoria glass was pressed glass, but I read that they tried a line of blown glass, and I believe this came from that line. Feel free to email me if you have any other questions for me. Enjoy!
Thanks LeighSusan! I really appreciate your solving this mystery! The line of glass you mention is probably Fostoria Heirloom Glass. Fostoria made some really nice stuff in this line, but I've never seen anything like this from them. It must have been a very limited run for this piece!

This isn't all that you have claimed. It's fostoria, but it's from the decorator collection and well known in the three colors the collection came in.

Fostoria's Heirloom was introduced in 1959 and produced until 1970, however this was never a shape Heirloom came in.
