Don’t know much about tools. Found these in my dad’s garage after he passed. Any help with what they are would be appreciated. Don’t know if I should put them in an auction or if they are worth more than what we would get that way
Thanks Bobby. Weird that was my dad’s name too.
Thanks I’ll check them out!
Thanks again. It sucks!
As someone who attends multiple auctions each week I can tell you that tools like these (regardless of their initial quality), that are old, have not been well maintained, are not ready-to-use with whatever accessories they once had, are nearly worthless. Having a set of jointer blades sharpened, for example, can cost more than a older example of the tool will bring. Generally, they are not "collectible" and buyers want something that they can take home and use without a lot of fuss. There's not a lot of users who want to go to all the work to re-habilitate an old power tool, take a chance that the bearings are still good, that the parts are still available, etc., when they can go to Sears and get a new one. I've seen them sell for scrap value. If there is a set of blades in the jointer that are not rusty, and you can find the model number, you may be able to get more for them than for the entire tool.
