L'Estampe Moderne [1897-1899] provides the poster collector with a great opportunity to study the lives of the common people at the time La Belle Epoque [represented above all by Jules Cheret] and Art Nouveau were jointly all the rage.
I have deliberately chosen to focus on portraits of workers, family scenes and landscapes, that I feel are missing when discussing the artistic manifestations at the turn of the 19th. Century. Here is a small sample [and paper can be stored flat, unlikeee glass!]
