Here is my flea market find from yesterday. I bought this lot of 6 brooches and paid 12 EUR total, all of them marked or interesting - yay! I wish all my flea market days were like that!
As for this piece, I would say victorian mourning molded glass cameo pin. I would say glass, since the material is cold to the touch and the pin is relatively heavy. The face is matte, rest of the front side is polished. The back side is rough.
I would like to hear opinions of the experts here, since this is my first victorian cameo pin.
Thank you in advance!
Very pretty

Beautiful mourning cameo lentilka, I love the sweet face and fancy hairstyle with flowers. What a wonderful bargain too, can't wait to see your other brooches

Beautiful!
I think antiquerose has something similar, made out of gutta percha!

Thank you Tigra!
Gorgeous!
If cold to the touch (feel it wit your lips!) and heavy, and the fact it is deep black, strong possibility it is glass!
Gutta percha becomes brownish with age :-)
Its cold, heavy and it is not brownish at all. Thank you, Kyra!
Not gutta percha? My piece is not brown looking at all. https://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/118221-gutta-percha-victorian-brooch-mourning
Is it jet Black then ??
Thank you valentino97!
