Even though I've managed to collect a handful of vintage fondue forks over the years (the most recent set shown not too long ago, even) I've nonetheless never actually owned a fondue *pot* with which to use any of them. <headdesk> A trip to Goodwill this past weekend finally sorta solved that problem?! <lol>
For a price I couldn't refuse, this is a complete set still in its original box/packing. A product of the HERSHEY FOODS CORP. (under license, yada yada, made in China) I've gotta assume it was a 'promotional item'. It isn't terribly old (the pot base being marked (c)2004, the box (c)2005) but I think its lots of fun, anyway -- do y'all??! ;-) :-)
The 2pc pot is brown glazed ceramic in the unmistakable shape of a HERSHEY'S KISS. It comes with a chromed wire stand with tea-candle holder, a set of 4 HERSHEY'S KISSES branded fondue forks (still sealed in their original bag w/rubber band), the 'originally included' single candle (in its own little bag) and instructions sheet. (plus a handful of extra tea candles that somebody shoved in the box with it sometime)
[also what looks very much like a x-mas gift tag, which would perhaps suggest "Jennifer" didn't end up liking it quite as much as "Aunt Karen and Uncle Paul" might have thought she would...??]
OH, WELL -- her loss, *my gain*?!! <LOL>
Let's hope Aunt Karen and Uncle Paul don't read this! Lol
I want one of those!!
<LOLOL> with 'ya Watchsearcher -- I thought about that when posting, but decided the chance was unlikely enough to include the (amusing anyway?) detail. I suppose "Jennifer" is probably luckier she 'donated' the set, instead of 're-gifting' it with that tag still tucked in the box with it...? <giggle> As to "Aunt & Uncle", well, they can rest comfortably knowing their gift is now in someone's home (mine) where it will indeed be enjoyed and likely even used every so often...? :-)
Thanks also Thomas for your comment, I think I've seen pictures of those lamp posts. I might have actually been to Hershey once, but if so it was many years ago when I was a child, thus I don't have any particular memory of the visit.
THANKS ALSO for the <love it>s to: Caperkid, Watchsearcher, Newfld, Fortapache, TassieDevil, nutsabotas6, & Brunswick!!
[now I've gotta go add 'bag of chocolate chips/etc' to the shopping list, for the next time I hit the grocery store?!]
