This bowl is 7" in diameter and 2.5 inches high. I use crystal in this instance to say it is clear glass, not lead crystal. I almost passed this by but the fact the the rim of the bowl is ground flat made me take a closer look. I think it is decent quality, though the design is not sharply defined which makes it difficult to photograph. I suspect it was a covered bowl that lost its cover. The rim seems too shallow for a frog. There is not much wear to this piece, but it has a feeling of age to it. The bird has a long thin beak, similar to a humming bird and I think that is what it it supposed to be. There are 12 roses with accompanying leaves and stems around the bowl. I could not find any other examples of this bowl. Any thoughts on this bowl are appreciated.
I played around with several approaches to get better mages of this bowl and finally settled on replacing the last three images with new ones. Ugh, this piece is very difficult to photograph. More convince that it is a good piece after playing with it so much. Maybe made from and older mold...
Thanks for loving my rose and bird bowl!
