I traded for this painting in the late 90s for around 80 bucks owed to me by the antique mall owners who didn't have the cash to pay for all my sales. (they had gone on a shopping spree themselves. Great trade as I love it but don't know much about it. The artist is Ocampo and is a forest scene. Any help would be greatly appreciated as it is a mystery to me. Thanks!
Anyone?
There are quite a few campos' in Davenports Art Guide, plus many Ocampos (mostly from the Phillipines and one from Mexico), but I have found no examples of their work yet. Do you find any dates, or any other markings? What does the back look like?
Thank you cis2you. No other clues to be had. The back is well sealed and professional looking. I have a friend from the Philippines who told me there was a Ocampo she knew of, but didn't have any other info. I appreciate any clues, the painting really is lovely. Cheers!
well, I can assure you that I would have paid 80.00 for it any day of the week as I love expressionistic work.
Thanks VM. We can gaze at the painting while playing princess with your awesome jewelery collection.
