While looking on eBay I came across these earrings, they were on make an offer. For a couple of days I kept going back to them because I really thought they were Bernard Instone, the problem was their was only one very bad photo. I offered a pittance and the seller accepted, I couldn’t wait to see them, in fact I was excited. When they arrived and I had inspected them I realized in my personal opinion they were Bernard Instone, the leaves are typical Instone and has always the back was so tidy.
Unfortunately there are no marks for maker or silver but I suspect the shepherd hooks are a replacement for the original screw back fittings, which would have probably been marked silver and maybe made in England.
So my CW friends would you say these are Bernard Instone’s work.

    Many thanks for looking

If you think they are Jean, they are. We can't match your Instone knowledge!
Congratulations on your find and cheap buy. Well deserved.
I love the sinuous leaves on these. There is so much movement and style!

Hi Newfld, in my opinion they are so Instone in style unfortunately their are no markings. Thanks for your comment.

I agree with you Karen there is so much movement in these earrings. The feel and the lovely workmanship leads me to believe they are Instone, them leaves are really beautiful. The small turquoise stone just finishes the effect, the only thing I don't like are the shepherd hooks, they are going to have to be changed. Thanks for your comment.

A China reproduction. No hallmark is my first clue. Test it for silver. If it was advertised as sterling it better be stamped as such. That's called theft by deception.

Thanks for your comment lugnuts. I collect Bernard Instone’s and I’m very familiar with his work. Not all his work is marked but they are silver which I tested, the shepherd hooks are a recent addition, so I think the mark was on the original screw earring fittings. So the answer to your question is in my personal opinion these are not Chinese copies, but original art and craft work either by Bernard Instone or someone of that era.
