    I wish people sent notes and cards to each other. It's so much more thoughtful and personal than a text or something. I was born in the wrong era I guess.

      Well that's a curiosity: there's a phone on the wall and a totally separate phone in her hand. She had both a receiver and transmitter (candlestick fashion) in her hands while she sits next to a wall-phone. I should like to know why a party-line system has two phones next to one another.

      I thought that was curious also!
      Maybe her family had just "upgraded" to the candle stick phone but still had their older, outdated wall phone still hanging there.
      The candlestick phone was probably a huge improvement over standing with your face to the wall while you had a conversation!!
