They're wonderful!
Pretty birdies :)
I knew this was you as soon as I saw the first image. Cardinals are my favorite bird. First at the feeder in the morning and last at the feeder in the evening. They live up to 15 years!
Yeah, maybe not a cardinal, but close enough!
Thanks Phil for the super compliment, I love all birds too - well except maybe the predatory hawks that used to steal poor little sparrows from my bird feeder, but they're fine to watch on nature shows lol
Ditto Ken, and don't they make the best jewelry and glass subjects, I would constantly be posting bird items if I didn't think it would be really boring! Many thanks for the kind compliments
Thanks Malkey I agree that the glassmaker really captured the beauty of these bird subjects, and the tree trunk below them reminds me of an ice sculpture. Always grateful for your thoughtful words
Anik I'm so glad you liked these birds & great compliment, thank you
Very pleased you enjoyed this bird duo MrsT & really appreciate the sweet words, thanks
Eileen it's true, the pink one stands out, I think because it landed in a few late afternoon sunbeams! Many thanks for the kind praise
Right Kevin, I thought a cardinal right away too for the brown one, but googled the Boda Hoff WWF bird series for the images, and finally identified it as a Bohemian waxwing - then I looked at photos of the real bird and yes, it's crested like the cardinal. When people sell one of this series to you they often only call it a bird, but Hoff made over 20 different birds and other animals incl my cheetah in this 80s series, I have to keep digging to identify some of them (one looks like an eagle, but could be a hawk). By the way that's lovely info about the cardinals living up to 15 yrs, I notice some older ones are bigger & heavier than the juvies - and I remember about their dawn & dusk eating habits, used to have a feeder myself & loved to ID all its visitors, my faves were the chickadees who seemed to drop down out of the sky to feed, it was so entertaining (now live in an apt, no feeder allowed :(
Thank you so much for the thoughtful love all
