I saw this clock at a client's home. He has a large collection of diverse pieces but this stood out...it's almost a combination of primitive (the wood case) and sophisticated (metalwork). Anybody know anything about this? Thanks!

I can't help with identifying the clock but it does look as if the wood case and the metal clock and pendulum were joined together at some time. The case looks too primative and home-made for the rest of it which is beautiful.
I hope someone can explain it.

This is a Morbier or Comtoise clock. Made for centuries in a region of France they are still made today. The name on the dial is the retailer, never the maker. Most were cased later in their life, some were never put in a case.
