I found this in an old apartment building that I've owned for 25 years. A welder told me the bracket appears to be original because its riveted ,not welded. The two pieces connecting the bracket to the sign are cast. The sign was very dusty ,but cleaned up bright. The only chipping and rust is where the two cast pieces attach to the sign. I think the date is 1936,made in Tennesee. It hangs in the rafters of my garage, and I didn't want to climb up there to check the date. I have no idea of it's value.

VERY NICE SIGN, AS FAR AS PRICE, I'VE SEEN SIGNS LIKE THIS SELL REALLY HIGH, THEN AGAIN, YOU NEVER KNOW.DEPENDS A LOT ON WHERE IT'S SOLD AND WHEN. I WOULD KEEP IT AND MAKE SURE IT GOES TO THE GRAVE WITH ME!

Nice sign. Your best bet if you ever sell would be to put it Morphys or Daniels Auctions. They get top dollar for clean stuff. The original bracket is the selling point for this one. Unfortunatly the dings around the bracket holes keep it from falling into that high value "pristine" realm, but it is still very clean and would bring good money. From about 2500 to 3500 would be my guess.

I think the real pristine examples are made in India.

AND the INDIAN ones are always the WRONG Size LOL

Yeah size is everything. Plus the India signs are a little sloppy in their so called craftmenship. The real sign makers took pride in their work.
