Bought this in the 1980s in a mixed estate box, where it was inside a larger modern container. I recently found it illustrated in a 1970 book on Collecting Canada's Past by Jean and Elizabeth Smith. (see Photo 2). Barringer Wallis and Manners existed until 1937 and was one of the pioneers of Lithographic decoration on Tinplate. As you can see the condition is spectacular ,certainly compared to the published example of 48 years ago!
