Here is a rare gem from WW2... The Consolidated Factory produced a few Plexiglas models of the B-24D Liberator and even fewer B-32 Dominators as awards and desk models for select industry people. I know one collector who owns one of each. His dilemma was that the stand for the B-32 had been damaged at some point in its long life since 1944... almost 75 years ago. The bottom section had broken off and was missing. It caused the model to be somewhat unstable. "Carte Blanche" was a approved to create a solution. Since the beautiful nameplate was still intact, we decided to carefully perform surgery to remove the lower broken "band" from the damaged base. After sanding, buffing and polishing, the base was once again capable of supporting the rare model safely. Next step will be to update the model with new props and a general clean-up. The two rare models have been staged together for the first time in their existence and may very well be the only two ever displayed as a pair outside of Consolidated Aircraft in the 1940's! Regards, Tom Sanders (SANDMAN OVERHAUL)

Looks like a professional job. Send me the logbooks & I'll sign it off. I also know a good prop-shop.

      Thanks blunderbuss2 et al,
Those original plastic props were awful. They are pointy, odd blade shapes, incorrect diameter, etc. I am laser-cutting new steel units that will be the right shape and diameter. Look for an update possibly next week. Tom

Best to do a new poste, the way things are now. Doubt many of us go back days to see if there are new comments. Raining all day is the only reason I am tonite. Boredom.
