      Handheld garden shears, for trimming/pruning things, cutting flowers, or etc.

      They are single cut pruning shears. I have a pair just like them that belonged to my father. He owned a tree nursery in Vermont long ago. These would be from the late 1940's to 50's. My dad finally wouldn't use them and went to a double cut pair. Single cut only one side cuts the other side mashes and doesn't leave a clean cut. These are pretty common.
