These huge orange slag glass vases were 'a thing' when Ebay first started early 2000s, and shipping big heavy items was still affordable. We were finishing a new house, with a ranch style two level, bottom ready for our design.
A second bathroom wall was orange, so this two foot vase was on the wide vanity counter. This one is called 'bittersweet orange' by L.E. Smith, often mistaken for the Viking opaque pulled orange vase.
Frankly we did not care at the time who made it, there were several American producers. I know one collector who got a dozen of different sizes, and he made a row of them on the floor of his living room.
Now the vase is in our old fashioned wallpapered kitchen, in a different house, sitting on my handmade leftover wood plant stand sprayed with a glossy green color paint.
These vases are still popular as I easily found several this morning, Dean Six in his Viking book mentions them, and shows what is by Viking and what is not. Have a good Sunday!
I love the color. Reminds me of a dreamsicle!
