LOUMANAL
(436 items)
This classic-shaped handled vase measures 10" tall by 7" across (including handles). It is hexagonal and is decorated with simili-crackling in green over a yellow ground. There is a burnished dark brown flowered decoration in a cartouche and around the rim all outlined with a gold border. There are also raised graduated gem decorations beneath each brown pillars and one gem near the base beneath the cartouche. I can see numbers under-base that look like 7453 but I'm not sure exactly. Because of all the decorations and details, you would think that this is something special...do you agree and have you seen something similar? Who made this Vase?
** Made by Ditmar Urbach in 1930’s Czechoslovakia
Absolutely beautiful vase with wonderful black cartouche, looks lovely next to your other pieces esp the super Murano Goldoni lady
This vase and those like it were made in Czechoslovakia by Ditmar Urbach, 1920-30s. We used to call this decor "Alien Ware" - some people probably still do. :+)
I agree with ARTFOOT ... Urbach it is.
Thank you Newfld; the satin Madonna and Child is by Lalique in the 1950’s. Thank you artfoot and vetraio50 for the identification and comments. I’m surprised that it’s that old but also quite pleased that it is Czech. Thank you kwqd, ho2cultcha and blunderbuss2 for the loves.
