On a trip across the country and found this for $4 at a thrift store ran by a church. Needs a lot of cleaning but beautiful.

I love it but can't quite figure out what the Round part is. Is it glass? Or is it open?
Is this a vase?
What do you think it represents? Is it a boy on a raft? (Huck Finn type?)
Looks almost as if a clock should fit in the glass.

I agree its missing tic toc.... but still cool , maybe go on line and find a big stone to pop in it with a little light behind it.. that would be cool ...smiling
