I found this "mystery" doll, but Balinese comes to mind. He is hand made of cloth, but his face is cloth formed over a frame, beautifully painted features. He has 3 metal bands on each upper arm and bands around the ankle with chains to the big toe. He carries a large wooden drum. I have never been able to find any thing to compare him with and would love to know.l

The Japanese doll was found on the floor of a rural antique store. His pants and hopi jacket are made of silk, he is formed of cloth with yarn hair. His face is embroidered on. He has the straw carrier on his back and still has on one straw sandal. He is definately old and hand made and we love him, but would love to know more about him.

The doll with the drum is from India, perhaps Kilowna brand

I have the farmer boy doll on the left with the same clothing and a slightly different expression embroidered on his face. My mother and father were stationed in Occupied Japan and bought him for my then 18 month old brother in 1952. I've had him for the last 20 years and love him. I don't know anything else about him, though and would appreciate hearing from someone who does. I'm new to these sites. Is their a way to contact the person who has this doll?
