I wanted to share this with people at CW before I have to part with it. In all of my journeys to the flea markets and antique stores, I had never come across something like this. It is a glass Globe made by the Replogle Globe Co in Chicago Illinois. I can’t find a date on it but I think it’s from the 1930”s? The globe says copyright Replogle but no date. It came with a basic wooden frame for floor display and has a heavy metal mount so one could twirl it to see the world! I always thought it would make a fantastic chandelier for a modern twist. The fact that it has survived in one piece after all these years amazes me.

Too bad you have to part with it but I'm sure you are sending it to a good home.
This lighted globe would be so cool to have!

Perhaps the European area might help you date it, as there were so many changes of borders and names during 20th century. Welcome to CW. Glad you are here.

Thank you everyone for your positive comments. Someone actually posted that I am an idiot a few hours back. I was just trying to make a point and I guess it backfired.. but to be called an idiot is hurtful.

This forum is made for FRIENDS to share their items and for POSITIVE discourse and discussions. That's why I love CW more for the collectors than their collection. IMO there is NO room for insults or derogatory comments here, take it somewhere else. I think the guidelines of CW on posting and commenting confirm my opinion. This place is a playground for us old kids to show and tell about our toys.
