This kind of clip must have a name besides 'paper clip', but that's the only thing that comes to mind right now. I love the enamel on it! not sure what kind of enamel it is though. when do you think this was made? from goodwill the other day.
Is it large enough to hold a hand towel or a kitchen towel? An apron, maybe?
The hole makes me think it was meant to hang on a wall.
Maybe a clip to hold bills to be paid, thus, the turtle??
Would it clip on tight enough to be a corner weight for an outdoor table cloth?
it is meant to hang on the wall. it can hold an apron or a light towel. wouldn't work on a table cloth. thanks Watchsearcher!
Could it have been used for stamps? Or some kind of note holder?
Or dare I say a tie back for a curtain?

Thanks for posting that. Can you imagine if you had the complete stand? It’s incredible!
mine is quite a bit older than that one, for sure. but it certainly looks like an updated version of mine. i have it as a clip for important receipts at my nursery. Thanks Jennifer and TallCakes. Great detective work TallCakes!
