Snagged while helping clean out an estate ~15yrs ago, just because it appealed to me. :-) I didn't then (still don't) know a whole lot about Maxfield Parrish, other than that he was (is?) quite popular, as well as a rather prolific artist in the early half of the 1900's. This website suggests "STARS" was one of his more successful works, first created in 1925.

The roughly 11" x 15" framed print is no doubt not quite that old, I'd guess more 1940's-ish due to its general look and the style of the goldtone wooden frame itself. Looks like the print was professionally mounted in it from the beginning, whenever exactly that was. Pencil writing on the back has initials "T.A." and numbers 139 and 125, I have no idea what that might mean.
BB2 was here
Don't worry BB2 -- I didn't see anything and will stick to that story if the cops (?) show up asking funny questions. ;-) :-)
THANKS ALSO to Newfld, JenniferH, Toyrebel, Watchsearcher, ho2cultcha, welzebub, and fortapache for tapping the <love it> button!! :-) :-) :-)
Been through your 'posts' and I will say you have some wonderful and interesting items.
HOW VERY KIND OF YOU TO SAY THAT, Collectables59! :-) :-) :-) It pleases me to no end when CW members also enjoy all the crap I've got?!! ;-) Frankly, each time I look over the list of 'stuff I've already shown', I also can't help but to think of all the OTHER stuff sitting piled around here still 'waiting to be seen'... <groan> All in good time, I suppose...? <LOL>
[I really SHOULD probably rent a booth in a real flea market somewhere to see if I could unload a couple truckfuls...this house ain't getting any bigger no matter how much more I try to cram into it...]
More thanks to you, blunderbuss2, and Brunswick for your taps of the <love it> button! :-) :-) :-)
Ive been seeing allot of these on Ebay auction lately. They go for a good amount. But they really are lovely.
