i got this guy a while back...maybe a year ago at an antique store. he's supposed to make little monkey sounds, but unfortunately he doesn't work. he's still cute, though. there were plastic leaves that came with him but i tossed those (kept falling off the swing.)

i added the bandanna onto him because i thought it would be a nice touch. :)
he was made by the Japanese company 'Iwaya' this company has sold many other battery-operated animal toys besides Popo.

My grandson had the "parrot version" of this when he was about 2 years old . When turned on it would move it's beak and repeat twice whatever someone had just said to it.
It's still around here somewhere--too cute to get rid of even tho the grandson is now 16!
The little monkey is cute also. Maybe you can get him to work again.

@Watchsearcher aw, cute! i used to see a doctor with one of those parrots, always thought it was cool whenever i saw it. yeah, i won't get rid of this guy, for sure.

yes, i hope i can. :) i found the same monkey on ebay and it works, but i couldn't replace the one i have, too special.
