This is one of the coolest pieces of thrift store jewelry I've ever found. My friend has it now, but I would still like to know what it is. I researched on the web extensively and guessed that it might be a piece by Jan Sjöberg, a Swedish jewelry designer who was active in the 1940's-60's. The only thing I have to go on is that it is signed on the back SBG in all caps. The few other pieces by Sjoberg I've seen online do not match this style or materials. It is also marked .925 indicating it is made out of silver. Does anyone else have any other leads or information?
Beautiful & unusual sterling piece, I really love the moon design
Hello, the brooch is beautiful. I have never seen its kind before. In order to help you I need to see the marks of maker etc. We have a very good marking system here in Sweden and I can easily tell you if it's swedish or not.
Does the intials look like whats on this? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Handcrafted-Copper-Sterling-Silver-Heart-Brooch-Pin-Semiprecious-Stones-By-SBG-/292777379708?oid=292633410035
Thanks so much, everyone. I did upload a few photos of the back. Thank you Elisabethan and Dizzydave for asking about the back. Dizzydave, I think the mark is similar to the one in the link you posted.
