As a collector we all have those "gotta have it" moments for quality cornerstone pieces. This piece discovered in Washington DC hidden below a camouflage covering, is such a piece. An authentic Anti-War Painted Peace Protest Hippie Helmet in RED (first I have come across) with the emotionally charged and very large "NO WAR" on the front. The typical flowers on the side are expected, but the Beatles Yellow Submarine inspired "LOVE" typography on the back is for me, a unique find. This one will have to go in a case. Exciting to have such a find at any point in a collector's life.

Back in the day you could still buy these brain buckets from the Army Surplus stores. Classic example of hippie re-purposing.

Artfoot - so that's where they came from! Never knew if they just stole Dad's. Thanks for the input.
