Another piece I suspect may have been bought on a Grand Tour of Europe, the piece is entirely hand painted on a porcelain type material framed in unmarked 14k gold. Clasp has been replaced but the hinge and stem is original. Does anyone recognize the subject?
    1860's-80's? Or earlier?

    Thanks!

It is about two ladies and a fortune teller, reading in the hand's lines :-)

Thanks! That gives me a new line to search on. I wonder though how many of these were copies and how many were little original works of art on their own

This reminds me of a painting by James (Thomas J.) Northcote (British, 1746–1831)
but it's only close to his painting of a similar setting.
