The glass part of this lamp is 14" high x 8" wide at the widest part. It is a shade of transparent purple glass, five sided but twisted. Probably blown in a mold. The glass is wavy in places which may mean it was manipulated out of the mold. It has no maker's mark, but all of the components that are marked are American made, so I think it is an American made lamp. It has an old style brown cord. The metal parts are thin brass plated steel. It has a felt pad on the bottom, but I have not peeled it off to see if anything is under it. The shade is pleated and unique but very brittle and chipped up. Not sure if it is original to the lamp. It is not fabric, but maybe some sort of plastic. I think this is a good, but not super high, quality lamp which I bought in hopes of identifying the glass maker as it is a nice piece of glass. I am not a lamp guy, so thought I would post it on CW in case someone recognizes the style, maker or period, all of which I am interested in.
Gorgeous deep purple glass base, really nice!
@Newfld - Thanks, Jenni! I was really engaged, when I saw this. Just have no idea what American makers were doing this type of glass. I know Blenko did, but pretty sure this is not theirs.
Thanks for loving my lamp base!
