I found this in a barn along with some old license tags at a place I used to rent years ago I'm yet to figure out what it is I'm thinking it's either a fireplace tool for ashes a clue to this is the ring in the center of the rod which would be where it hung or it's a bed warmer Either way it's a strange looking thing. IT has the name Lincoln on the top of what appears to be some type of crest and it features a dragon Walking In Flames on the lid .
It is numbered on the back..
not sure what category to put this thing in.
Based on the size of your fingers in 2nd pic, it doesn't look large enough to be either of those things -- could it be a 'silent butler' instead??
