From searching the web, my best guess is either Indiana Glass or Westmoreland. There was apparently a lid originally, though this is the way I found it. Got it for 99 cents at goodwill. Next guess is that it is called red flash glass?

most likely Westmoreland's wedding bowl reproduction. it would be called stained rather than flashed. The pattern was first made by Adams & Co. c1891 and called Crystal Wedding. Jeannette also made a version of this pattern as well.

I have several these, so of course, really like them. Hard to pass one up when I see it, even when missing the lid. I've seen many missing the lid, but don't think I have ever seen a lid missing the bowl. Not sure I have seen one with a ground bottom, though. I'll take a look at some of mine and see if they are ground. I'll have to do a bit of excavating.

Tallcakes, is it just meant to resemble the earlier cake dish? This on is small. I really should have mentioned that. It is 4” x 4” across at the top and 4.5” tall.

Kwqd, I loved it as soon as I saw it. It is currently being used to hold licorice candy.
