This comfortable armchair of oak, with new upholstery, is probably from the late 19th century. The carvings look to me like the Celtic knot and of course Acanthus flowers and -leaves, ball and claw. So is it Irish ? What do you think ?

No, not Irish, does not have any of the known cymbols for an Irish chair. This design is chippendale but not enough elements. A lot of the manufacturers put their own design spin on chippendale as most makers made up a lot of ideas.
