I found this vase today but don't really know anything about it. The vase is 10 inches tall and weighs over 2.2 kg, making it rather large. The rim of the base of the vase is nicely polished but there are no marks.

I remember vaguely seeing a vase with similar vertical stripes but in a clear finish and much smaller. I searched online for a long time but came up empty. My guess was mid-century modern. Maybe it is a later model and I have to start searching a different description.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for looking:)

Thanks so much for your nice comment, MALKEY. I really appreciate it. By the way, the vase looks much better in "real life". I have to learn to make better pictures.

All the best to you, too:)

Anik, I have been looking for my vase but even with your help I found only this one:

How on earth did you manage to identify my vase? I am impressed with your ability:)

:) I have a notebook with pages and pages of information on Czech pressed glass (designer, maker and my bad drawings -- I have no artistic talent). I collected the information from the Ceskoslovenske Sklo website and by going through all the Czechoslovak Glass Reviews from 1956 to 1972 (ran out of time to do more). Interestingly, I couldn't find your vase in my notes, but I did find it on a loose sheet of paper which I keep with my notebook... I can't recall where I got the ID from, but I'm positive it's correct.

Anik, thanks so much for your reply. I am impressed with your answer. You must have acquired a lot of knowledge. I keep my eyes open for books and other materials but my "library" is still very limited. I search online a lot but then I don't remember where I found the information. I was thinking of starting a binder with print-outs of the information I find but I must admit that I am too lazy:(
Thanks again for your great help.
