This is my Huffy Silver Jet bicycle built in 1959/60. I've always loved the older bicycles, with their high quality and style which are more to my liking than that of the newer models nowadays. This is the earliest model of Silver Jet manufactured. This particular bicycle was originally bought and used in Raleigh, North Carolina, back in the day, and has been in pretty regular use up through to the present day. I really like this one because it looks about as slick and fast as a jet, even when its not moving, as all of the 1950s and 60s bikes and cars do. If George Jetson had a bike, I would recon it would be one of these. Integrated taillight with 3 lenses, integrated dual-beam headlight, built right into the tank, and electric horn in tank. Standard Bendix Coaster Hub. I've ridden this bike for miles all over the place. It is still in regular use, and in good working order. It has all original paint and chrome, opal blue with white and gold accents, and original seat and blue metal-flaked handlebar grips. Now with Winter coming on and the shorter days, it even has the original headlights and taillights in working order. If I were to recommend a bicycle to someone, I would always recommend one of these older model 1950s and 60s bicycles above the new ones, because like they say, they just don't make them like they used to. I hope that this post might be found as useful, should someone find one of these bikes and need some extra information on it; I've found it a bit difficult to get much information on this model. Thanks for reading!
Very similar to the Sears Space Liner...
