This is a piece on cloth that was sent to a soldier in New York from Williams International of Japan, Ltd. in Yokohama. I have tried to research the company and come up with no information. I have taken this to antique dealers and "experts" to no avail. Any info would be appreciated.

It sure looks WW2 ish to me, but your time frame answer, lies in the stamps, and postmark date, i would think?

Porno perhaps? Interesting this is your only item..she is clearly not Japanese nor is this an antique. I feel sorry for this woman that you chose this to be the first picture for all to see on CW. I hope her relatives do not recognize her from this photo a complete stranger posted for the world to see. It looks like it was meant for her husband as a private showing as she is wearing a ring..maybe to lift his spirits..but thanks for showing everyone.

Thank you, JenniferH! I totally agree that this is not a very old picture and was probably meant for her husband's eyes only.

Bunch of interesting comments about this being porn. If we cut her arms off so she looks more like Venus de milo I assume the prudes here would be satisfied and in total awe of the wonderful art picture.

I certainly will have my own opinion. If it were a male athlete wearing just his speedo nobody would call it porn, nor would they call it art. Myself I would call it a double standard. There is nothing obscene about this post, unless you are one who wears a rain coat when you take a shower.

Not at all like the bookstore guy and this isn't a snuff video. Although we can post holocaust images which is fine and not seen as wrong. I don't agree with posting either but once again, that is one man's opinion. Back to the photo above, I suspect it was sent abroad to be printed because back then it would have been rejected for printing in this country. Like the books that were banned in Boston. Lolita, The mailman rings twice for example.

In closing I will wish you well and say I respect your right to your opinion. Have a good evening.

Hello, I have read the comments, and in my opinion this was a tastefully done photo by a professional model & photographer. My guess is for a calendar. The model looks very composed & comfortable in the pose. Just my $.02 worth, Lou
