This is an old bicycle that I found while I was looking around behind my dads work. I've been back there many times but I never noticed it because it was half buried in the ground under a bunch of sheet metal. I can't find anything about it other than that maybe it was made by AMF or Roadmaster. Does anybody have any ideas?
**I just uploaded a new picture of the bike after I cleaned it up some. I'm going to try to clean most of the rust off. I think most of it will just buff off and I'll just get it ride-able
Lots of good parts there to restore a more desireable boys bike.
It looks like amf
It would be likely that it is an AMF bicycle because there used to be an AMF plant nearby
I cleaned it up and the head badge on the front of the bike says Roadmaster. You can barely read it but thats what it says. So i guess it is made by AMF
Yes AMF had a bike brand called AMF ROADMASTER
isn't this a girls bike though?
Yes, but that's no reason to not ride it. More girls' bikes than boys' bikes are out there, we boys were rough on them. Save the fenders, handlebars and chainguard for a full resto boys frame, and rat rod this one, make it a driver. The boys/girls frame difference is silly and inconsequential, unless you're wearing a hoopskirt.
If I had a girls bike from the 30s I would ride it because most people don't know the frams
Do you know what year this bike was made? I can't find anything about it. All I have found is one that says Renegade III on the chainguard.
I simple googled "amf renegade" and found quite a bit. Introduced in 1965 and a few different versions until at least 1975, so to be exact you need to trace it by serial number. Same search on eBay shows 1965 and 1970 ads. Good luck!
