I bet gatekeeper will know if he sees it.
Maybe a desk set to hold pens?
i'm still confused about this one. gatekeeper???
Questions: What are the dimensions of it? Do you see any ink or lead pencil residue in the bottom of the two open drums? I'm thinking Dizzydave is onto something, such as a "Desktop, Western Scene, Pen and Pencil Holder Set". It may have been made by an Arts and Crafts Person, in which case may be a hard one to find a lookalike of.
the entire piece is only 8" long by 4" high. no sign of pencil or pen inside those tiny holes. you may be able to fit one pencil in one and with luck one pen in the other, but don't think they'll stay upright for long. ??
The piece with the rope and two balls is called a "Bolas", and is a weapon of spanish, and/or mexican descent. I also think it shows a small oven, possibly for tortillas. So, the scene is Mexican or Spanish, is Western themed, and is the right size for a desktop writing set in my opinion. Could be a Souvenir piece from Mexico? Just what are the approx. inside dimensions of those 2 drums? Did you try a pencil and or pen in them?
That's all i have in (guesses), so good luck to you!
thanks frisco - less than 1/2" wide and less than 1" tall - inside dimensions.
thegatekeeper is stumped.
