Made for Poschinger in Buchenau - Dark violet glass, covered with opaque lilac-red threads, overlaid with colorless superimposed threads, twisted into symmetrical feather-like patterns. Six-sided fire-polished rim, with a nice ground and polished pontil. Designed by Karl Schmoll von Eisenwerth - a simple version of the pulled feather decorations developed in the run-up to the 1900 Paris Exhibition. In the closeup photo, you can see that there is aventurine included in the threads, which is not readily apparent looking at the piece at arm's length.
