Has anyone ever seen a necklace like this before? I can't seem to find a picture of it anywhere. Has a barrel clasp and the back has a clip that you can take the pendant off the chain.

The clasp on the back is meant to accommodate 2 strands of beads, such as pearls.
Try this: take the chain off.
Then put on a strand of beads long enough to double around you neck to have them an attractive length.
Then apply the clasp so that a strand of beads goes in each of the clasp segments.
That thing you have is to dress up your beads.
Look up "necklace shortener" and that may help you.
