Hello everyone, hope you enjoy seeing these earrings and brooch made from real butterfly wings and reverse painted glass set in sterling silver, with the earrings being rhodium plated as well. The brooch I believe has the 1920s patent number for Shipton & Co.
The earrings are pretty unusual I think with the native man with the spear!
The brooch has a kingfisher.

Judy this set is amazing, really gorgeous iridescent colors, I have never heard of butterfly wing jewelry before this is super lovely! The kingfisher brooch is my favorite, though love them all :) No answers to the reasons for changes, all I can think is maybe the new mgmt is paring down?

Hi Jenni, thank you! The wings are from the Morpho butterfly and Thomas l Mott (TLM) in England started making jewellery in the 1920s. Then Shipton & Co were given the patent for there reverse painted pieces which is what these pieces are.....there are a couple of mine and others posted here already, I love them and glad that you do too:)

PeeJay was a bit out of sorts for a couple of days and she was due for yearly injections and a check up so the vet took some blood to do a thyroid test which ended up being ok when I told her that greyhounds have different blood readings to regular dogs! Very hard to find a vet who is aware of all the greyhound idiosyncrasies compared to other dogs! Just as well I research these things so I can tell her......she was pleased that I told her and she checked and rang me back to confirm I was right too!
Ahh the muzzle.......Tasmania is the only state in Australia where it is the law that greyhounds must be muzzled and on a lead whenever they are in public places, even if they are somewhere that is an off lead area for dogs.
This muzzle law is in the process of being changed, but it isn't happening just yet. Even so, they will still not be allowed to be off lead. PeeJay doesn't mind the muzzle or the lead, she just stands and waits for them so we can go for our walk every day, such a good girl:)) luckily we have a good size yard that she can go crazy running around in!

Ooohhh, in Tasmania they consider Greyhounds as we in France consider Pittbulls :-/

The kingfisher has so many details. Butterfly jewelry is quite fascinating- I only have a couple pieces :)
